Hello and welcome to the VERGOS Family website.
For over 50 years, our family has been involved in the production and marketing of high-quality pork, based on the breeding farms in the area of the Municipality of Ziros in Epirus. We believe in purity, quality and complete transparency at every stage of production.
The pillar of our operation is the fully vertically integrated production chain, which ensures full control of all stages up to your table:
* Privately Owned Farms: In the mountainous area of Driofytos Filippiada, we raise our pigs with care and in welfare conditions
* Feed Factory: For the optimal nutrition of our animals and the guarantee of quality, we produce our own feed.
* Modern Slaughterhouse & Distribution Center: In Kerasonas, Filippiada, we operate modern slaughterhouse facilities.
* Processing & Standardization Unit: Here, the meat takes shape.
* Butcher Shop-Retail Store Network: Our direct connection with the final consumer.
Our goal is to offer the Greek market, either through wholesale or directly to the final consumer, pure Epirus meats of unique flavor.

* 1973 – The Roots
“MICHAEL VERGOS & CO” is founded by the founder Michalis Vergos, with a clear goal: the breeding and trading of pigs.
* 1992 – Organization & Expansion
The operation of “PYR.X.A. VERGOS” begins on privately owned land in “Omorfada” of Dryofytos, expanding our activities in the breeding and marketing of breeding pigs.
* 1997 – Verticalization – A defining stage
“VE.Z.ZO. S.A. is established”, a defining stage. We create the vertically integrated production chain, with the construction of the animal feed factory and the slaughterhouse facilities. In 2009, the addition of the meat and sausage processing and standardization unit completes our production model.
* 2013 – Connecting with the Consumer
We approach the public directly. Entry into the retail sector with our own network of butcher shops. We open meat shops under the brand name EPIRUS PORK – VERGOS in Epirus and Western Macedonia, offering exclusively high-quality Epirus meat and meat preparations.
* 2021 – A New Breath
The company MENTITERRANEAN lifestyle highlights our perspective on a modern Mediterranean diet and life.

Our business is based on the continuity of generations. The founder, Michalis Vergos, laid the foundations.
Today, his vision and momentum are carried forward by Grigoris Vergos, who with perseverance and innovation developed and led to the creation of the modern economic group. Under his guidance, our activities extend throughout Greece and the Balkans.
Looking to the future, the third generation of the family is actively training, keeping tradition alive and embracing the challenges of the times, to ensure the continuity of our offering.
